I have just quit social media today - Facebook and Instagram. When I say 'quit', I mean to say that the accounts are very much active but not alive like they used to. I have been on these social media platforms since 2010 and I have been sharing my life, my ups and downs, exes, and current relationship for 12 years! For 12 years, I have let 4000 users have a sneak peek into my life. That's crazy!

What is every crazier is that I allow strangers to have a share in my life and some of them I have never met in real life. I would not let that happen to my child but I was not careful about having my life out there in the open. Now that I am writing about it, it does sound scary.

Then, I was thinking, to be real, nobody really pays attention to anybody. Even if I'm gone from the internet, I don't think anybody would notice. It's not that I am some kind of celebrity that people follow on a daily basis.

Now that I quit social media, I have just realized that I no longer scroll mindlessly on my phone and now I have more time! Yay! Now that I have more time, I do not know what to do about it.

To be honest, I felt lonely at first because I suddenly do not know what was going on in people's lives (okay, that sounds weird but it's true!). I was talking to my husband about this only to realize that I felt such a way because I did not replace the bad habit with a new one. So, instead of scrolling on social media, I replace the habit with writing. The one passion that I had been neglecting because "I didn't have time". Now that I have time, I am going to start writing again (crossing fingers). To my new habit!
