I just finished reading "The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry" by John Mark Comer last week. It took approximately almost 3 weeks to read this book. I would say it was an easy read because of the way it is written - unconventional and narrative-like with short sentences. Nevertheless, the content was deep and life-changing (I will talk more about what I mean by life-changing because my life has CHANGED!).

One critic, not major though. As a non-American, I find that there are many very American references that I might not be able to understand if I was not in America. I assume that the writer did not think that his book would reach worldwide and non-American readers.
The main takeaway from the book is to be Jesus' apprentice. Not just taking the principles of Jesus' life but living the lifestyles and habits of Jesus in the modern days. Jesus is the teacher and the role model to imitate in this book.
As I have mentioned earlier, the book is life-changing. I consider myself a minimalist but I acknowledge that I still need more work to have this lifestyle. Instead of decluttering stuff, this time around, after reading the book, I declutter my digital life. I realized that there are so many digital habits that I have been doing that are not helpful and do not add value to my life. I deactivated my Twitter, temporarily deactivated my Facebook, and removed both Facebook and Instagram from my phone. It has been a week since I last updated my Instagram and I have never been so free! As of now, I don't think I will totally get rid of my social media platforms because I feel like I still want to be connected with people that I know. But I definitely have made it extra difficult to access them by only accessing them through my laptop.
Yet we urge you, brothers and sisters, to do so more and more, 11 and to make it your ambition to lead a quiet life:
1 Thessalonians 4:10-11
